Niqé
Hot, unpredictable and cutting edge are just a few of the words used to best describe this bona-fide superstar. Nicole Tiovanni Hardy- named after the renowned poet- Nikki Giovanni; artistically known as ‘Niqé’ (pronounced “Nēē-Key”), is destined for greatness and her unrelenting passion for music will pave her path. “Life is a series of phases”, says Niqé, “You’ve got to believe in your dreams and live them without any regrets”.
Born in Richmond, VA into a musical family- her father a jazz musician and mother a member of their church choir, Niqé followed in their path singing in her church choir at which point her parents knew at an early age that she would be an unstoppable force in the entertainment business. She began showcasing her musical skills every Sunday night for family and friends as she utilized her parents’ living room as her performance stage.
Niqé further honed her musical skills by emulating her idols- Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Patti LaBelle and the late great incomparable superstar- Michael Jackson just to name a few. By the tender age of 7, Niqé had participated and won several talent competitions and beauty pageants.
At the age of 13, Niqé was discovered by several Sony Music producers and began writing and recording several songs for her demo. Continuing her quest for music perfection, Niqé took several dance classes and performed in many talent showcases, local music festivals, and open-mic talent sessions where in May of 2006, she was introduced to Mr. Carlin N’Watts of the November Entertainment Group.
In 2006, Niqé signed a management deal with 118 Management/November Entertainment Group at the age of 16 under the guidance of her mother- Ms. Tanya Hardy. With the help of her manager, 118 Management began crafting out her image while recording her professional demo. She also began collaborating and writing with her label-mate November 8 Recording artist- Jonah Brockman. Niqé also embarked on a nationwide promotional tour of Jonah Brockman’s debut album. The tour paved a way for her to showcase her music skills thus, creating a serious buzz for her in the states of Michigan, Maryland and Washington DC.
Despite gaining momentum, Niqé decided to quit her music career in 2007 in order to finish school and pursue a higher education. “I felt I needed to complete school and enjoy that college experience and also discover myself” Niqé says of her decision.
Niqé reunited with her former manger- Carlin N’watts, and signed a record/management deal with November 8 Recordings/118 Management/November Entertainment Group in August 2010. Since then, she has been hard at work at Cue Studios in Virginia creating music masterpieces that will no doubt send her straight to the top of the charts.
With her smash hits “Tonite”, “Superstar”, and “Club Thunda” from her upcoming debut album, there’s no denying her as she is bound to make her indelible mark in music history as one of the world’s greatest entertainers.
